How Beat the Clock Works

Beat the Clock turns Patches into a race. You start with one minute on the clock and solve one board after another. Each solved puzzle banks bonus seconds, so a fast, clean run keeps you going. A run ends when the clock hits zero, after 30 boards, or after 20 minutes, whichever comes first.

Pick a mode: Easy, Medium, Hard, or Expert. Easier modes bank more time per solve (Easy +10s, Medium +7s, Hard +5s, Expert +3s). Easy, Medium and Hard start on 6 × 6 boards; Expert starts on 8 × 8 and reaches 10 × 10. After 3 solves the run moves up to a harder tier or a bigger grid, and from board 7 on it holds at the mode's final wave for the rest of the run, so the pressure comes from the clock.
