1. Introduction

Patches Game (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information is involved when you play Patches, how it is used, and the choices you have. Playing the game does not require an account, and we keep data collection minimal by design.

2. Information we collect

We do not require registration and do not collect personal identifiers such as your name, email address, or phone number. Your gameplay progress, preferences, and streaks are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) so they persist between sessions on the same device. Clearing your browser storage resets that data. We do not transmit it to a server.

3. How we use information

Locally stored data exists solely to run the game — to resume a puzzle, keep your streak, and remember preferences. If analytics are enabled (see below), aggregated, anonymized usage data helps us understand which pages are popular and improve the site.

4. Third-party services

If the site operator has enabled Google Analytics (via the NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_ID environment variable), aggregated, anonymized usage data such as page views and referrer information is processed by Google on our behalf. This is the only third-party service used. We display no advertising and use no ad networks. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the official browser add-on.

5. Cookies

The game itself sets no tracking cookies. If Google Analytics is enabled, it may set analytics cookies to measure aggregate usage. If analytics are not enabled, no cookies are set for tracking purposes. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent personal information. Because gameplay data stays in your browser, there is nothing to share. The only processor that may receive anonymized usage data is Google Analytics, and only if the operator has enabled it.

7. Security

We apply reasonable technical measures to protect the site. Because the game stores data locally and collects no personal identifiers, the risk surface is minimal. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is ever 100% secure.

8. Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Under applicable privacy laws you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Because we do not collect personal identifiers for gameplay, most of these rights can be exercised directly by clearing your browser storage.

9. Children’s privacy

This game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Data retention

Local gameplay data persists in your browser until you clear it. Any anonymized analytics data, if enabled, is retained by Google according to its own retention settings.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted by updating the “last updated” date above. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
