Medium Patches Game Unlimited is the everyday Patches board — the one most people picture when they say "a Patches puzzle." Roughly half the clues still show both shape and size, but the rest show only one: a shape with no number, or a number with no shape. You recover the missing half from the geometry around it. With no daily cap you can keep pulling fresh Medium boards at any of the three grid sizes.
What makes Medium boards medium
A size-only clue tells you how many cells the patch covers but not its proportions, so you weigh it against the walls and other clues to decide whether it is square, wide, or tall. A shape-only clue is the reverse — you know it is, say, wide, but you have to work out how far it stretches. Medium boards usually take two or three linked deductions before the grid resolves.
Tips for Medium Patches
Treat a size-only clue near a wall as a little constraint problem: count how its cells can fan out without overrunning the edge or swallowing another clue. When two clues compete for the same cells, the one with less freedom usually wins — place it first.
